Medical

On Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 12:16 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student in Centennial Towers who was in need of medical assistance. Officers responded to the scene and contacted paramedics, who transported the student to Porter Hospital.

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 3:42 p.m., Campus Safety was contacted by a student who made the officer aware of an injured student near Johnson-McFarlane Hall. The officer responded to the scene, contacted paramedics and provided assistance until paramedics arrived and transported the injured student to Swedish Medical Center.

Traffic

On Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7:25 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member in parking lot 121 regarding damage to a university-owned vehicle. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the reporting staff member who relayed that sometime between Oct. 7-8, an unknown person hit the vehicle in question while it was parked, causing moderate damage.

On Thursday, Oct. 13, at 3:49 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member regarding accidental damage caused to a parked vehicle in lot 506. The staff member reported that while attempting to touch up paint on the outside of a window, they dropped their paint brush onto a parked car, causing paint to splatter on the hood. Officers also spoke to the owner of the vehicle, who refused to allow the staff member to attempt to clean the paint off the vehicle.

Theft

On Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 11:36 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a contract worker at the Penrose Library construction site regarding a theft. The reporting party explained that a large piece of equipment was stolen from the site sometime between Oct. 7 and Oct. 10.

On Thursday, Oct. 13, at 1:26 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a Sodexo employee who reported that an 80-pound box of beef had been stolen from Nagel Hall. The Sodexo employee noted that the box had gone missing sometime between Oct. 7 and Oct. 12.

Drugs and alcohol

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 4:46 a.m., Campus Safety observed a student who was intoxicated and unconscious outside of the Ritchie Center. The officer contacted the student and was able to wake him/her, however, due to their high level of intoxication and inability to answer basic questions, the Denver Police Department (DPD) was contacted. DPD cited the student for underage intoxication and transported him/her to Denver Cares.

On Thursday, Oct. 13, at 1:37 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call made from Johnson-McFarlane Hall regarding an intoxicated student. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the student in question, who was visibly intoxicated and verbally abusive towards officers. The student attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by officers. Due to the student’s attempt to flee and their refusal to provide officers with identification, the DPD was contacted. DPD arrived on the scene, cited the student for underage intoxication and transported them to Denver Cares.

On Friday, Oct. 14, at 12:57 a.m., Campus Safety observed two students at the corner of East Asbury Avenue and South York Street. Both students appeared to be intoxicated and one student was vomiting. The officer made contact with the students and contacted Denver Cares. Both students were transported by Denver Cares to their facility.

On Friday, Oct. 14, at 2:31 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from the DPD requesting assistance with a student. Upon arrival, officers spoke with DPD officers who relayed that they had seen the student in question, a minor, drinking near the corner of Evans and University. When DPD approached the student, the student gave them a fake identification card. The student was cited by DPD for underage drinking and providing false information before being released by DPD.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1:51 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call made from Centennial Halls regarding a student who was vomiting in a restroom. DPD and Campus Safety both spoke with the student, determined that he/she was too intoxicated to remain on campus and transported the student to Denver Cares.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, at 3:39 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call made from Nagel Hall regarding an intoxicated, unconscious student in the building. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the student in question, who was conscious but injured and extremely intoxicated. Paramedics transported the student to Swedish Hospital.

Violence

On Sunday, Oct. 16, at 3:49 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from the Kappa Sigma house regarding a student who was assaulted by a group of students. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the student in question, who relayed that they had been outside of the house smoking a cigar when a group of students began throwing objects at the student in question. The incident escalated and a physical fight broke out. Additionally, officers observed that a window in the house had been broken.
