Medical

On Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 7:11 p.m., a Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) observed paramedics parked on the north side of the Ritchie Center. The PEO contacted Campus Safety Officers who responded to the scene and spoke with an unaffiliated party that had injured themselves while using the Coors Fitness facilities. The party was attended to by paramedics and declined transportation to a hospital.

On Saturday, Jan. 21, at 3:48 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the Barton Lacrosse Stadium regarding a knee injury. Upon arrival, they spoke with an unaffiliated party who stated that while playing in a Club Rugby match they injured their knee. Denver Paramedics arrived on scene and transported the party to Swedish Hospital.

Traffic

On Sunday, Jan. 22, at 12:30 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the Nelson Hall parking garage regarding an auto collision. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with both parties and determined that while one of the students was exiting the lot, the other student pulled out in front of them. There was damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.

Theft

On Friday, January 20, 2012 at 4:53 p.m., Campus Safety Officers responded to Centennial Halls regarding a theft. An unaffiliated party stated that $20 had been taken from their jacket while it was hanging in an unlocked locker in room 005.

Drugs and alcohol

On Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 1:23 a.m. ,While on routine patrol in Centennial Halls, Campus Safety Officers found a marijuana cigarette lying in a stairwell. Officers were unable to determine who had left it there.

On Saturday, Jan. 21, at 8:26 p.m., Campus Safety was dispatched to Centennial Towers regarding a marijuana complaint. Upon arrival the officers spoke with two students who admitted to using marijuana.

One of the students was incoherent and acting strangely, so paramedics were called. The ill student was then transported to Porter Hospital and the other student was released.

On Friday, Jan. 20, at 10:53 p.m., Campus Safety responded to Johnson MacFarlane Hall regarding an intoxicated unaffiliated party. Upon arrival, Campus Safety interviewed the unaffiliated party who admitted to drinking and voluntarily agreed to be transported to Denver Cares for monitoring.

Harrassment

On Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 2:05 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a student regarding a possible stalking situation. The student stated an unaffiliated party had been acting strangely and was recently seen on campus, possibly trying to contact the student. The student was advised on how best to handle the situation.

On Thursday, Jan. 19, at 1:12 p.m., Campus Safety Officers spoke with a staff member regarding an unaffiliated party who may attempt to contact the staff member on campus. The staff member stated that the unaffiliated party is known to be violent and dangerous. The staff member was advised on how to best handle the situation and Campus Safety officers were made aware of the identity of the unaffiliated party.

On Thursday, Jan. 19 at 3:40 p.m., Campus Safety spoke with an Aurora Police Department (APD) officer who reported a possible stalking incident involving a student. APD requested that DCS pass this information along to the administration at the college where the student attends, as they may have unethically obtained personal information for the complainant.

Public Indecency

On Saturday, Jan. 21, at 2:14 a.m., while on routine patrol, a Campus Safety officer witnessed an unaffiliated party urinating outside of the Chambers Center. Denver Police Department (DPD) was called to the scene, took the unaffiliated party into custody and charged them with urinating in public.
