Most high school bands call it quits after members graduate and head off to college.
Not the guys in Jeremiah Freed.
This new band already had a solid following when the members graduated from high school in June of 2000. These five guys, who hail from the little town of York, Maine, studied up on the classics; The Who, Zeppelin, Skynyrd and Aerosmith.
All the late nights of practice and playing on the road paid off. Their new self-titled album, just recently released, has already made a major impact.
Their hit song “Again” has already spent two months at the No. 1 spot in Portland, Maine, beating out such headliner bands as Creed and Puddle of Mudd.
Jeremiah Freed’s album is solid from beginning to end. Every note fits perfectly and forms a style of rock to be reckoned with. The guitar defines the music, with blazing riffs and solos that leave the listener breathless. Nick Goodale and Jake Roche play the guitars, while Joe Smith’s distinct vocals, Matt Cosby’s bass and Kerry Ryan’s drums complete the band’s distinct sound.
“Again” is the band’s first hit, but there are plenty of other great songs on the 12-song album. “Stranded” has splendid guitar riffs that grow perpetually louder throughout the song, and “How They Got Here” has an even faster, rhythmic sound.
The solid rock reaches all ages, as both young and old alike are connecting to Jeremiah Freed. Each song flows perfectly and is filled with stunning guitar solos, which is rare in today’s synthetic music industry.
These five guys seem to know what it takes to make a great band. Good music plus a lot of hard work. No flashy clothes or fancy dances, just good old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll.
Keep an eye out for Jeremiah Freed. This band is going to make a name for itself.
