Suspicious trespasser

On Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 4:50 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a suspicious party near the Cable Center. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party was loitering near several DU students who were sunbathing. The party was trespassed and Denver Police escorted him off campus. Campus Safety completed a report.

Confiscated fake ID

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 2:20 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was assisting another officer with a call when he observed a party who appeared to be intoxicated near the Ritchie Center. An on-scene investigation revealed the party was an underage and severely intoxicated DU student. Campus Safety confiscated a false identification card. Denver Cares transported the student to a detox facility for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Possible burglary

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 10:47 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a burglary at the Performing Arts Center. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member secured his office on June 29. When he returned on Sept. 25, he discovered personal electronic equipment was missing. There were no signs of forced entry. Disposition pending report review.

Theft at fraternity

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 10:59 a.m. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department responded to the report of a burglary at the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house. An on-scene investigation revealed an unidentified party removed personal electronic equipment from a room at 7:25 a.m. There appears to be signs of forced entry on the room’s door. Disposition pending report review.

Check fraud

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 10:59 a.m. a DU staff member reported check fraud. A Campus Safety report revealed a check issued to a DU student was taken from an off-campus location by an unidentified party. The student declined to file a report with Campus Safety or the Denver Police Department. Disposition pending report review.

Smoke in Halls

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 7:13 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of smoke at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed there was smoke in the lobby. Campus Safety activated the fire alarm and evacuated the building. DFD responded and determined the smoke was caused by burnt food in the kitchen area. No damage or injuries were reported. Campus Safety completed a report.

Underage drinking

On Friday, Sept. 28, at 2 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol near the Harper Humanities Garden when she observed a suspicious party. An on-scene investigation revealed the party was a underage DU student. The student admitted consuming alcohol at an off campus location but did not appear to be intoxicated. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Sexual assault

On Friday, Sept. 28, at 2:08 a.m. a DU student reported a sexual assault on campus. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Hit and run

On Saturday, Sept. 29, at 4:25 p.m. a DU student reported a hit and run traffic accident in parking lot N near Nelson Hall. A Campus Safety report revealed the student parked her vehicle in the lot on Sept. 8. When she returned to the vehicle on Sept. 11 ,she discovered damage on the passenger side door. The students was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department.

Traffic accident

On Saturday, Sept. 29, at 4:37 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a traffic accident in the intersection of S. High and E. Buchtel Boulevard. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student driving a personal vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by an unaffiliated party. The unaffiliated party was trasported to Porter Hospital for medical treatment. Minor damage to University property was reported. Risk management will be notified.

Gas leak in Halls

On Sunday, Sept. 30, at 12:10 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a suspicious odor at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed the gas was coming from the kitchen area. The building was evacuated. The Denver Fire Department determined a gas leak caused by a loose hose. Facilities Management was requested to repair the hose. Risk Management will be notified.
