CIA Specialist Kelly Bates will lead a session entitled “Women in Intelligence.” She will discuss careers in the CIA in Ben Charrington Hall, 220, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
Tomorrow
DU Law Professors Robert M. Hardaway and Sam Kamin will be offering their perspectives on the death penalty proceeding the second reading of House Bill 09-1274.
The discussion will take place at 12 p.m. in the Sturm College of Law room 125.
The Non-profit and Governmental Career and Internship fair will take place in the Driscoll Ball Room from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Anyone is welcome to meet with prospective employers to learn about career opportunities.
Thursday
Abraham Lowenthal, a professor at the University of Southern California, will present his book “Global California: Rise to the Cosmopolitan Challenge” at 5 p.m. in the Schneider Board Room in Daniels College of Business.
Friday
As part of Student for a Democratic Society’s Radical Rush, there will be a panel discussion entitled “In Pot We Trust.” The panel will discuss DU’s drug policy in Lindsay Auditorium at 2 p.m.
Saturday
The tenth annual CORD Human Rights Symposium will take place in Sturm College of Law from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The day will focus on human rights in Latin America. There is a $5 registration fee for students if tickets are bought in advance, and a $30 fee at the door.
SDS Radical Rush continues with a Community Garden workday beginning at 11 a.m. An American veteran against the war in Iraq will speak at 7 p.m. in Lindsay Auditorium. The event will conclude with a “Drop Beats not Bombs” party beginning at 10 p.m.
There will be a screening of I.O.U.S.A., a documentary about the current economic troubles facing the country, in Davis Auditorium at 6 p.m. The film was nominated for Best Documentary at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
Following the screening there will be a discussion with Patrick Creadon, the film’s director, the Honorable Andrew Romanoff, former speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives and Robert Bixby, executive director of the Concord Coalition.
