Theft at DU Bookstore

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 12:59 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Driscoll Center. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party attempted to remove DU merchandise from the DU Bookstore. The Denver Police Department responded and arrested

the party for shoplifting. Campus Safety completed a report.

Stolen bike

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 8 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at Boettcher Center West. An investigation revealed a DU student secured his bicycle to the rack with an unapproved lock earlier that day at 5:30 p.m. When he returned to retrieve the bicycle at 8 p.m. he discovered it was missing. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department. Disposition pending report review.

Violent student

On Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 2:02 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an intoxicated party at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed an unidentified severely intoxicated party was threatening students on the 4th floor. The party became aggressive and struck a DU student in the face. The party left the area prior to Campus Safety arrival. Minor injuries were reported. Medical assistance was declined. Disposition pending report review.

Hit and run

On Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 12 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a hit-and-run traffic accident in parking lot 302 near Driscoll Center North. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student parked his personal vehicle in the lot earlier that day at 11:20 a.m. When he returned at 11:50 a.m. he discovered minor damage to the left rear of the vehicle.

Underage drinking

On Thursday, Feb. 28, at 1:19 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an intoxicated party at the Harper Humanities Gardens. An on-scene investigation revealed an underage DU student was severely intoxicated. Denver Cares transported the student to a detox facility for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Vandalism

On Thursday, Feb. 28, at 11:44 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of vandalism at the Ritchie Center. An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown damaged light fixtures in the breezeway of the Barton Lacrosse Stadium. It is unknown when the damage occurred. Denver Police Department assistance was declined.

Stolen money

On Thursday, Feb. 28, at 12:12 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the College of Law. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member locked a University owned cash drawer in her desk on Feb. 26, at 4:20 p.m. When she retrieved the drawer on Feb. 28, at 8:10 p.m. she discovered cash was missing. There were no signs of forced entry. The staff member was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department.

Missing wallet

On Thursday, Feb. 28, at 11:16 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Driscoll Center. A DU student was in possession of her wallet at the Sidelines Pub at 6:39 p.m. At 10:45 p.m. she discovered her wallet was missing. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department.

Suspicious activity

On Friday, Feb. 29, at 1:45 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol near the Ritchie Center when he observed a suspicious party walking northbound on the service drive. An on scene investigation revealed an unidentified party was pushing custodial equipment. When Campus Safety attempted to contact the party and he fled the area. Campus Safety recovered the equipment and completed a report.

Hit and run

On Friday, Feb. 29, at 4:15 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a hit-and-run traffic accident in parking lot 119 near the Physics Building. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member parked a University owned vehicle in the lot on Feb. 28, at 4:15 p.m. When he returned on Feb. 29, at 8:45 a.m. he discovered minor damage on the front left side of the vehicle. Risk Management will be notified.

Fire alarm

On Monday, March 3, at 2:23 a.m. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity house. An on-scene investigation no smoke or fire were present and the alarm was caused by burnt food in a toaster oven. The Denver Fire Department reset the fire alarm panel.
