Parking lot gate damaged

The gate to the courtyard parking lot 306 near Nelson Hall was damaged by unknown persons between Sunday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. and Monday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m.

Facilities Management has been notified.

Offensive writing on white board

Suspicious behavior was reported at Johnson- McFarlane Hall on Monday, Feb. 9, at 11:09 p.m.

An unknown person had written derogatory remarks about a Resident Assistant on the door of a residence hall room on the first floor.

The students that lived in the room denied having written the offensive remarks.

The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards was notified.

Suicidal student sent to hospital

Campus Safety was called in on the report of a suicidal party in the 2300 block of East Iliff Avenue. After talking with the student officers decided that the student was a threat to himself.

He spoke with the on-call counselor and agreed to be transported to Porter Hospital for medical treatment.

Student Life was notified.

CO false alarm

A Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department reported to Aspen Hall after a student’s carbon monoxide alarm went off on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 12:02 a.m.

Though the student reported feeling ill there was no carbon monoxide present, and the detector was malfunctioning.

Paramedics examined and then released the students.

Facilities Management was notified.

Equipment stolen from contractor

On Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 8:04 a.m. a theft was reported to Campus Safety by a DU contractor. A review of surveillance tape showed two unidentified males stealing equipment from a locked storage area at 4:30 that morning.

Campus Safety has not released the value of the stolen equipment. A report was filed with the Denver Police Department.

Hit and run

A student reported a hit-and-run accident to Campus Safety at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 after finding her vehicle damaged in the E parking lot near the Campus Safety Center.

The student had parked her personal car in the lot on Wednesday, Feb.11 at 4:30 p.m. She discovered the damage on the right rear of the vehicle when she returned to get it at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department.

Bike stolen from Nelson Hall

A DU student reported his bicycle stolen on Friday, Feb. 13, at 4:15 p.m. from the N parking lot near Nelson Hall. The student had locked his bike to the rack with an unapproved lock at 4 p.m. the day before.

When he returned on Friday afternoon it was gone. He was told to file a report with the Denver Police Department.

Inebriated minor sent to detox

A Campus Safety officer encountered a severely intoxicated underage student in the 2000 block of East Asbury Avenue at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, during a routine patrol.

The student was transported to a detox facility for medical treatment and the Office of Citizenship and Community Standards was notified.
