Red nose sale for philanthropy
The Zeta Beta Tau fraternity will be selling red noses on the Driscoll Student Center bridge today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN).
The sale will run through Saturday.
Each nose costs $1 and all proceeds will be given to the CMN.

Music and quiet time in Chapel
The university chaplain will host “Music and Meditation” today in the Evans Chapel from noon to 1 p.m. on the theme mercy and forgiveness.
The event will provide a space for students to listen to selections of music focused on the theme.

Fight cancer with Livestrong
Students are invited to join the fight against cancer this Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Driscoll Student Center bridge.
The booth, which will be hosted by the Lance Armstrong Foundation, aims to provide students with information on how to become a part of the global fight against cancer.

Women’s day crosses borders
International Women’s Day will be celebrated Thursday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ben Cherrington Hall Cyber Café.
The documentary “The Greatest Silence” will be shown. It depicts the story of women and girls in the Iraq War. Wine and cheese will be served.

Founders alumni celebration
This Thursday, a cocktail reception and dinner will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Denver to celebrate the 2009 Founders Day Alumni Award recipients and 145th anniversary.
The reception begins at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m.
Business or cocktail attire is requested.

Foreign relations examined
Next Monday, author Trita Parsi will speak about the political intersection between Iran, Israel and the U.S. at noon in the Craig Hall community room.
Parsi has written the book “Treacherous Alliance – The Secret Dealings of Iran, Israel, and the United States” and received the Council on Foreign Relations’ 2008 Author Ross Silver Medallion.
The lecture is sponsored by the Institute for the Study of Israel in the Middle East, which includes the Josef Korbel School of International Studies.

Chaplain leads book discussion
There will be a book discussion on “Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy” next Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. in the Driscoll Student Center’s suite 29 room.
The book is about a school shooting in Nickel Mines, Pa. and the response it garnered from the Amish community.
Daniels graduate
