Networking strategies
Only 15-20 percent of all available jobs are ever listed in Internet job postings or in classified newspaper ads.
Most jobs are found in the “hidden” job market that is best accessed through networking. Come to this program to learn and practice networking techniques that can help you connect with the people who may open those hidden opportunities to you. This event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 9:30 – 11 a.m. in room 155 in Sturm College of Law. Contact Cathy Salaz at csalaz@law.du.edu for further information.

Come experience the statistics and be a part of the solution. The banquet will be held next Tuesday, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the DU College of Law forum. The suggested donation is $5 to $500, which will be donated to the Food Bank of the Rockies. Please RSVP to Karen.Bensen@du.edu. This program is sponsored by: Partners in Learning, DU College of Law, Amnesty International, Nelson Global Village, Community Engagement and Service Learning, and Oxfam America
Driscoll re-opening
Students have expressed a concern over a lack of sufficient places on campus to gather. The AUSA Senate and the Parents Council have combined their efforts to raise funds for the Driscoll Student Center Commons Remodel. This remodel will transform the Driscoll Commons area from an outdated, bland cafeteria setting into an inviting student gathering space, complete with food service, comfortable chairs, entertainment areas and conference style tables where students and student organizations can meet. The grand re-opening is scheduled for Oct. 9 from 10:30a.m. – 1 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony, free food, prizes and music. The Commons will be closed from Oct. 4-8 for the remodel. Contact John Nichols at john.nichols@studentlife.du.edu or 303.871.3864 for more information.
