Car vandals
On Friday, Oct. 6, at 2:55 a.m. a Campus Safety officer discovered vandalism to a university-owned vehicle parked near the Shwayder Art Building.
An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) threw concrete pieces against the vehicle. Minor damage was reported. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Drug medical assistance
On Saturday, Oct. 7, at 4:45 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol near the Ritchie Center when he was contacted by a DU student.
The student reported he was under the influence of an illegal substance and requested medical assistance. The student was transported to Porter Hospital for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Skateboarders flee
On Saturday, Oct. 7, at 4:38 p.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in parking lot 119 when she observed four males trick skateboarding in the lot.
One male was identified as a DU student. The other males fled the scene and were not positively identified. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Drunken aggression
On Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2:03 a.m. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department responded to the report of suspicious activity in the 1900 block of South York Street.
A DU student became aggressive with officers. Denver Police Department transported the student to a detox facility for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Student assaulted
On Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2:03 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an assault in the 1900 block of South York Street.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student was struck in the face by an unaffiliated party. The student declined to press charges. Campus Safety completed a report.
Car broken into
On Sunday, Oct. 8, at 4:01 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in the 1900 block of South York Street when he discovered a vehicle with a broken window.
An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown removed the stereo and climate control systems from the vehicle.
Campus Safety was unable to identify or locate the owner of the vehicle. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Car keyed
On Sunday, Oct. 8, at 7:20 a.m. a DU staff member was inspecting a university owned vehicle in the Campus Safety Center parking lot when he discovered vandalism.
An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown scratched the driver’s side of the vehicle with a key.
A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Stereo jacked
On Sunday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in parking lot O when he was contacted by a DU staff member regarding a theft.
An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown broke several windows and removed the stereo system from the staff member’s personal vehicle. The staff member was advised he could file a report with Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Bike missing
On Monday, Oct. 9, at 2:12 p.m. a DU student reported a theft at Centennial Halls. A Campus Safety report revealed the student secured his bicycle to the north bicycle rack with an approved lock on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m.
When he returned to retrieve the bicycle on Monday, Oct. 9, at 9:50 a.m. he discovered it was missing. The student was advised he could file a report with Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Another bike gone
On Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 2:30 a.m. a DU student reported a theft at Centennial Halls. A Campus Safety report revealed the student secured his bicycle to the north bicycle rack with an unapproved lock on Monday, Oct. 9, at 3:30 p.m.
When he returned to retrieve the bicycle at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, he discovered it was missing. The student was advised he could file a report with Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Bike bolt cutters
On Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 11:43 a.m. a DU student reported an attempted theft at Centennial Towers. A Campus Safety report revealed the student secured his bicycle to the east bicycle rack.
When he retrieved the bicycle at 9:47 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, he discovered bolt cutters near his bicycle. The bicycle lock had marks that appeared to have been caused by the bolt cutters. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Suspect flees in truck
On Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 2:55 p.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol near Centennial Halls when he observed a suspicious party near the north bicycle rack.
Campus Safety attempted to contact the party who fled the area in a pickup truck. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Towing problems
On Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 4:05 p.m. a DU student reported damage to his personal vehicle in parking lot 108.
A Campus Safety report revealed Parking Services towed the vehicle from parking lot 108 to parking lot 109 when it was found illegally parked.
The student reported a small scratch on the driver’s side review mirror which he claims occurred during the tow. A Parking Services investigation is ongoing.
