what went right
The Pioneer’s defeated Troy 66-43. Juniors Britteni Rice and Kaetlyn Murdoch scored 22 points each while sophomore Emiko Smith dished out seven assists.
what went wrong
Not to much went wrong in this showdown. The Pioneers won back to back games after defeating Florida Atlantic 79-55 last Wednesday night at Magness Arena.

The Women’s basketball team will be in action on February 16th against Louisiana-Monroe for the annual Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association Pink Zone event.

Third place finish at the Denver Invitational
what went right
Sophomore Andrew Dougherty had a fourth place finish in the men’s 21K freestyle. He was only 33.8 seconds behind Utah’s Miles Havlick who won the 21K freestyle race with a time of 59:23.8.
what went wrong
The Pioneers finished the three day competition with a total of 808 points, falling short of rival University of Colorado’s 879 points. University of Utah finished in second place with 869 points.

On Saturday Feb. 25, the Ski team will compete in the Giant Slalom competition in Park City, Utah.
Men’s Tennis
New Mexico St. 4, DU 3
what went right
DU’s Yannick Weihs and Andrew Landwerlen both brought home victories in respective singles matches. Landwerlen then teamed up with Jens Vorkefeld to win No. 1 doubles 8-3, and Weihs teamed up with Jonathan Kidane to win No. 3 doubles 9-8.
what went wrong
New Mexico State won four singles matches to gain the victory against DU. NMSU was able to defeat the Pioneers in the No. 1, No. 2, No. 5, No. 6 singles as well as No. 3 doubles competition.
