Art robberOn Monday, Oct. 3 at 8:30 a.m. a DU staff member reported a theft from the Ammi Hyde Building. Campus Safety responded and completed an on scene investigation. The investigation revealed six decorative wall prints were taken from a common hallway between Friday, Sept. 30, and Monday, Oct. 3. A report will be filed with Denver Police when a detailed list of the items taken is available. Vehicle hijackerOn Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 3:18 p.m. a DU student reported a vehicle theft from the 1900 block of South University. A Campus Safety report revealed the vehicle was taken on Monday, Oct. 3, between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The student filed a report with Denver Police.
Hall harasserOn Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 9:55 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a suspicious individual at Skaggs Hall. The individual was identified as a DU student. The student was asked not to return to Skaggs Hall. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Library hassleOn Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 10:56 p.m. a DU staff member reported harassment at Penrose Library. The suspect left the area prior to Campus Safety’s arrival on the scene. An investigation revealed a DU student witnessed two female DU students being harassed by an unaffiliated male. Campus Safety completed a report.
Maintenance theifOn Thursday, Oct. 6, at 2:12 p.m. a DU staff reported theft from the College of Law building. Campus Safety responded and completed an on scene investigation. The investigation revealed maintenance equipment was taken from a storage room between Sept. 15, and Oct. 6. Investigation is on going.
Marijuana bustOn Friday, Oct. 7, Campus Safety responded to the report of an odor of marijuana at Johnson-McFarlane Hall. An on scene investigation revealed three DU students were in possession of contraband. The contraband was confiscated by Campus Safety. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
False alarmOn Friday, Oct. 7 at 3:16 a.m. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Centennial Halls. An on scene investigation revealed there was no smoke or fire. The Denver Fire Department reset the fire alarm panel.
On Friday, Sept. 30, at 12:55 a.m. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an underage, intoxicated DU student at Centennial Halls. Paramedics determined the student required medical assistance. Denver Cares transported the student to a detox facility for treatment.
Frat anticsOn Friday, Sept. 30, at 12:14 a.m. a Campus Safety officer heard a fire alarm from the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity House while on a routine patrol. The Denver Fire Department responded and determined the alarm was due to the discharge of a fire extinguisher and it appeared to be a prank. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Bicycle crookOn Friday, Sept. 30, at 1:55 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a bicycle theft from a bicycle rack at Sturm Hall. An on scene investigation revealed the bicycle was secured with a U-Lock. The bicycle was found Friday, September 30, at 2:20 p.m. near Nelson Hall.
“Pot-tober” festOn Monday, Oct. 3, at 12:49 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an odor of marijuana at Centennial Towers. An on scene investigation revealed that five underage DU students were in possession of alcohol and contraband. The items were confiscated by Campus Safety. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
