Trash tossOn Friday, May 6, at 4:38 p.m., a DU staff member reported that items were being thrown from a window at Centennial Towers. Campus Safety responded and completed an investigation on scene. Information gathered will be turned over to Citizenship and Community Standards for disposition.
Skate situationOn Friday, May 6, at 9:02 p.m., an unaffiliated female reported that she injured her ankle while performing on ice at the Magness Arena. The female was transported by ambulance to Porter Hospital for further treatment.
Peeing penaltyOn Friday, May 6, at 9:48 p.m., a DU staff member reported that a male was urinating in public in the 2100 block of E. Asbury Ave. Two DU students were contacted and identified. The incident will be referred to Citizenship and Community Standards for disposition.
Foiled again!On Saturday, May 7, at 8:05 p.m., a DU student reported that person(s) unknown had made an attempt to steal A.V. equipment from a locked cabinet at Ben Cherrington Hall. The equipment was secured with a locking cable. A Campus Safety investigation was completed on scene. A maintenance request was submitted to repair the cabinet.
Balloon launchersOn Tuesday, May 10, at 4:41 p.m., Campus Safety was called to parking lot L, north of the Sturm College of Law on a report of items being thrown from the top level. Campus Safety contacted four DU students, confiscated a balloon launcher, destroyed the remaining balloons filled with water and escorted the students from the area. The incident will be turned over to Citizenship and Community Standards for disposition.
Dirty driver On Monday, May 9, at 1:10 p.m., Campus Safety and Denver Police Department was called on a report that a male was riding around the area naked and trying to contact females. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department responded and searched the area. The male was seen by Campus Safety leaving the area on I-25 heading southbound.
Mystery crackOn Tuesday, May 10, at 5:25 p.m., Campus Safety was called to parking lot 302, west of Driscoll North to a broken windshield on a Sodexho van. There were no witnesses or suspects. An investigation was completed on scene. Denver Police Department involvement was declined.
Kappa Sig signedOn Tuesday, May 10, at 5:00 a.m., a construction worker at the Kappa Sigma construction site reported that person(s) unknown entered the area and spray painted a wall inside of the building. Campus Safety completed an investigation on scene.
Free moneyOn Wednesday, May 11, at 1:05 p.m., a D.U. staff member reported that person(s) unknown stole cash and other items from an unsecured office at Frontier Hall. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department responded. A Campus Safety investigation is on going.
Porn fiendOn Wednesday, May 11, at 10:49 p.m., a DU staff member reported that an unaffiliated male was using the computers at Penrose Library improperly. Campus Safety responded, contacted the male and escorted him from campus.
Campus AssaultOn Thursday, May 12, at 4:07 a.m., a D.U. student reported that she was assaulted by an unknown male while walking in the 2100 block of south High St., adjacent to the south end of Spruce Hall. The student was able to fight off her attacker. Denver Police Department was notified and responded.
Pissed-off pundit On Thursday, May 12, at 12:30 p.m., a DU student reported that person(s) unknown removed political stickers from his vehicle while it was parked and unattended in the 2100 block of south High St. Denver Police Department assistance was declined.
Bus bingerOn Friday, May 13, at 1:17 a.m., Campus Safety officers observed an intoxicated DU student exiting a bus in front of the Mary Reed building. Paramedics were called and responded. The student was transported to the detox center for further care.
Vehicle violenceOn Friday, May 13, at 3:20 p.m., a DU student reported that person(s) unknown struck and damaged her vehicle while it was parked and unattended in lot H1, south of Ben M. Cherrington Hall. Campus Safety responded and completed an on scene investigation and advised the student to report the incident to Denver Police.
Prices too high?On Friday, May 13, at 4:41 p.m., Campus Safety was called to the DU bookstore, located in the Driscoll Center, on an irate unaffiliated customer. The person left the area prior to Campus Safety arrival.
Who owns a fanny pack?On Friday, May 13, at 8:45 p.m., an unaffiliated female reported that her unattended fanny pack was stolen from the bleachers at Gates Field House at the Ritchie Center. A check of the area for the pack and a possible suspect met with negative results. The female was advised to report with Denver Police Department as well.
Parked car crunchOn Saturday, May 14, at 11:50 p.m., a Campus Safety officer observed a vehicle crash into a parked car in the 2200 block of south Josephine St. The Denver Police were called. The driver of the vehicle was cited for careless driving by Denver Police.
Glass getawayOn Sunday, May 15, at 7:56 a.m., a DU staff member reported that he had witnessed two unknown females loading a sheet of Plexiglass used for the Gates Field House hockey rink, into their vehicle. The glass was unsecured on the east side of the Ritchie Center. A check of the area for the vehicle and females met with negative results. A Denver Police Department report will be filed.
