With the Denver Broncos standing in last place in the AFC West accumulating a record of 2-5, Broncos fans are upset with their team’s performances this season. The worst performance was week three of the NFL season, when the Broncos lost 70-20 against the Dolphins, five away from the worst beatdown in NFL history.

Broncos fans are known to be a loyal fanbase averaging the 5th highest attendance in the NFL in the 2022 season. In the past, the Broncos have had a strong winning tradition, appearing in eight Super Bowls and capturing three world champion titles.

The captain of the sinking ship is Quarterback Russell Wilson, who has been getting worse by the week. Wilson has led the Broncos offense to be ranked 17 out of 32 overall.

Longtime Broncos fan and DU student Nathan Momont agrees with the frustrations of many fans.

“Growing up I watched Peyton Manning win us the Super Bowl in 2016,” said Momont. “And all my dad would talk about growing up was John Elway and how he went to the ‘97 Super Bowl.”

Momont even expressed the Broncos are so bad that they are unwatchable on Sundays.

“Nowadays I don’t even throw the games on anymore; I am ready for Avalanche games,” he said.

With next year already on the mind for Broncos fans, all eyes will be on how the team perform for the rest of the year. Their next three opponents are the Bills, Vikings and Browns — all tough matchups.
