The following is satire for the Opinions section.

Joseph Robinette Biden, often colloquialized as merely Joe Biden, sometimes referred to as Sleepy Joe, is the 46th president of the United States. A Democrat, a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, Joe is many things.

Perhaps his most notable claim to fame is his incredible ability to be the president while juggling being 80 years old. This makes him the oldest president the United States has ever had. Some may argue that such an age actually works against Joe, and that a younger more accurate representative of our nation would be appreciated.

And to those people, Joe Biden spits (or, more aptly, drools) in the face of. For he is running for re-election in his recently announced second campaign for the 2024 election. The question becomes: Why?

Why would Biden run for re-election after indicating in his 2020 election he would only be a one term president? Why is he so old? Why is he older than both of my grandparents?

The answer is quite clear; President Biden forgot. And he didn’t merely forget that he indicated he would go for re-election, the story goes much deeper than that.

An 80-year-old man, backpedaling on his promises, forgetting what to say next frequently … This all points to one conclusion: President Biden, bravely suffering silently under dementia, has forgotten he ran for President in 2020.

He believes this upcoming election, in 2024, will be his one term. He forgot he won the election, which is why he can be found eating his comfort food online–chocolate chocolate chip ice cream.

I rest my case.
