Update March 15, 2020 at 3:08 p.m.: There are now 131 positive cases in Colorado, 24 of which are in Denver county. Since Colorado state labs are testing cases in the same way as the Center for Disease Control, there is no longer a presumptive positive test classification; every positive is now a confirmed case.
March 13, 2020, at 4:00 p.m.: El Paso County reported the first death attributed to COVID-19 in Colorado. The person who passed was a female in her 80s, with underlying health concerns. Governor Polis stated “While we were expecting this day, it doesn’t make it any less difficult to hear and share this news. As a state, we are in mourning and our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of the Coloradan we lost.”
