As a reinvented 25-year-old popstar coming back from a four-year break, Justin Bieber hits everything from his lux-lifestyle and steamy romance to his emotional struggles and connection to faith in his 5th studio album, “Changes.” We’ve seen the shy, pre-pubescent teen, the tattooed bad-boy and the confused, struggling young adult, but, all else aside, one thing remains the same—Justin Bieber’s got pipes.

Fans impatiently waited for Bieber’s first single drop in four years and then were given “Yummy,” the first look into the “Changes” era.. Personally, I was less-than impressed with this track; however, only days later, Bieber released his next single, “Get Me,” featuring Kehlani. With “Get Me,” Bieber exposes a refreshing twist on his classic style. After great success with collaboration hits, “I Don’t Care” with Ed Sheeran and “Friends” with Blood Pop, fans were surprised with this second single that veers away from his classic Dance/Pop style towards a more modern, R&B sound.

Another single track from Bieber’s new album, “Intentions” featuring Quavo, was virally streaming everywhere within hours of its release on Feb. 7. With this track, Bieber gives us the most classic, singsongy track on “Changes.” Giving subtle hints of his usual pop style, this track is sure to be a staple of this new album. A number of famous DJs have already delivered party-anthem remixes, such as Skyrock and KLANZ.

One track on Bieber’s new album was particularly significant: “Second Emotion.” Here, Bieber explains the depth and meaningfulness he has found in his relationship with his new wife, Hailey Bieber. Bieber sings, “If you feel like giving me a lifetime of devotion/ I second that emotion,” portraying their dedication and loyalty to one another. As of last year, these pop-culture icons are rarely seen apart, and, in this song, we get to hear about the high level of stability and support that has quickly evolved in this relationship.

Interestingly, in a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Bieber spilled all the tea. He opened up about his health issues, including Epstein-Barr and Lyme Disease, and the romantic details of his marriage. Bieber commented on the steamy romance and stated, “This is an album I wrote in the first year of our marriage, so it’s so fresh. There’s so much more to learn about commitment and building trust and foundation.” With that said, Beliebers can only expect to continue gaining authentic insight into Justin and Hailey’s relationship in the future.

Bieber displays his unbelievable talent through not only the lyrics he sings but through the vocals, too. His passion and desire are apparent in the tone of his voice in each song of the album. With “Changes,” it is clear that Bieber is back from his artistic pause with a reviving new style.
