DU boasts 29 active sports clubs that encourage students of all skill levels to stay active throughout the year. If you were a star athlete in high school or want to just give a new sport a try, there is likely a club sport for you.

The club women’s basketball team is one of the 29 clubs offered by DU. The club is a competitive team that is open to all players and students, though previous experience is recommended. Currently comprised of eight players and one coach, the team competes in local, regional and national tournaments in both the winter and spring quarter.

During the first weekend in February, club women’s basketball hosted their first tournament of the year and had an exciting performance to come in second overall. With their only loss being to the Air Force Academy, the team beat both Colorado State University and Western Colorado State. Despite facing some illnesses and injuries, club women’s basketball fought hard to defend their home court. In the following months, the players will travel to Nebraska, Kansas and UC Boulder for regional and national tournaments. Although it is preferred that students join in the fall, interested players are always welcome during any season.
