There was an excitement in the air as the women’s soccer waited in anticipation of their NCAA Championship bid. Last weekend, The Pioneers dominated in the Summit League Championship where they took down Omaha by a score of 4-0 to earn their second consecutive Summit League title.
The Pioneers were drawn against the University of Arizona. The Pioneers will travel to Tucson for the first round of the tournament this weekend, time and date is TBD. Other teams in their group include Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Texas Christian University. Head Coach Jeff Hooker stated, “We are excited about the result and traveling to the warm weather. We have been on the road recently and have played well as a team. The weather we have experienced lately on the road, especially in North Dakota, was quite frigid so the warm weather will be a nice break. We are excited.” The Pioneers have played well this season with an overall record of 13-5-2 and are looking for a long tournament run.
