The DU Women’s Soccer team now sits at the top of the Summit League table after a decisive 1-0 victory over North Dakota this Sunday, October 14th at home.

The win came off the foot of junior Hannah Adler (Oak Park, Calif.), who capitalized on assists from junior  Heather Turcios (Azusa, Calif.) and freshman Esther Malers (Fort Collins, Colo.) in the 39th minute to secure the lead at the half.

“I thought that we were unbelievable in the first five or 10 minutes, getting crosses and chances in the box. I was really proud that we kept with what we were doing, because we could have got frustrated, but we pushed on and got our goal. In the second half we still created some good chances, and we handled them throwing numbers forward at the end well. Have to be really happy with the home win,” said Head Coach Jeff Hooker

This was Adler’s eighth game-winning goal in her career, and junior goalkeeper Brittany Wilson (Littleton, Colo.) put up her sixth shutout of the season with four saves.

The win puts Denver at the top of the Summit League table with 15 points, with NDSU and SDSU trailing close behind.

DU will play again on Sunday against Western Illinois in Macomb at 11 a.m. MST.
