Explore Denver is a program offered by DU that allows for current students, faculty and staff to get access to events and cultural institutions in Denver for discounted prices. The program is a great way for the DU community to explore the city at large and enjoy events that might be difficult for the average student to afford.
Museums:
The Downtown Aquarium: Explore Denver offers discounted tickets for the DU community to the Downtown Aquarium, offering undergraduates tickets for $6 and graduates, staff and faculty tickets for $11.50.
The Denver Zoo: The DU community can enjoy discounted tickets for the Denver Zoo in a similar vein, with tickets discounted to $6 for undergraduates and $12 for graduate students, staff and faculty.
Sporting Events:
Explore Denver is offering the DU community the chance to go to an NBA game at the Pepsi Center on March 22, 2017. That night the Denver Nuggets play the Cleveland Cavaliers and discounted tickets for $25 are being offered to the DU Community.
Amusement Parks:
DU students get discounted tickets to Elitch Gardens, the premier and historic theme park in downtown Denver. The discount for daily tickets has not been made public for the upcoming season, but the DU community can receive a season pass to Elitch’s for $64.99.
Theater Productions:
DU students and staff can enjoy discounted tickets to multiple shows at the Denver Center for Performing Arts in March and April. The classic Hollywood musical, “An American in Paris” is playing from March 10 to 11. DU undergraduates can enjoy the show for only $20 and graduates, faculty and staff can enjoy the show for $46.50.
From April 14 to 15, the DU community can attend showings of the award winning musical, “Mamma Mia!” for deeply discounted prices. As with “An American in Paris,” undergrad tickets are $20, while staff, faculty and graduates can attend for $46.50.
Explore Denver updates often, so be sure to check in every quarter. Most events have ticket limits and as well one should allow a “minimum of one business day for Explore Denver to fill your order for pickup at the Office of Student Engagement.” Tickets can only be ordered through the Explore Denver office Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m.
