Q: How did you begin playing soccer?
A: I started playing when I was very little. I fell in love with the sport and playing goalie and I just never stopped playing.
Q:What are your favorite parts about being a goalie rather than another position?
A: My position decides the outcome of many games and I really like that pressure. Being a goalie requires a lot of leadership.
Q: How did you come to DU?
A: I was looking at many schools and I knew that I didn’t want to stay in California. I visited DU when I was in Colorado for a tournament and I really liked the environment. It was a great fit and I get to play soccer here, too.
Q:How have you elevated your game over the last three seasons?
A: During my freshman year, there was a great class of seniors that really helped me and taught me leadership skills. Last year, I realized that there is more to life than just winning and playing soccer. This year, I’ve really focused on my character. Being an athlete requires good character just as much as skill.
Q: What are you looking forward to most over the rest of this season?
A: I’m looking forward to winning games. It’s been a tough start to this season, but we are learning something every game. A losing record is not something any of us are used to, but we are getting through this together. I know that soon we will start winning those important games.
