Located in Denver’s City Park, the Denver Zoo is sprawling with animal exhibits, shows and demonstrations. Plus, there are tons of upcoming can’t-miss events like “Nature Connects, Art with LEGO Bricks,” an award-winning traveling exhibit featuring life-size animal and plant sculptures made of LEGOs, and “Mike’s Camera Zoo Lights Photo Safari,” a photography workshop where participants learn how to photograph the upcoming “Zoo Lights.” For non-natives unfamiliar with one of Denver’s most popular winter attractions, “Zoo Lights” features more than 40 acres of brilliantly illuminated lights and of course, Santa Claus. Undergraduates can purchase tickets for $6, graduate students, faculty and staff get these for just $12.
Denver Aquarium: General Admission

The Denver Aquarium is an entertainment and dining complex that hosts more than 500 animal species, the Nautilus Ballroom, dive lounge, interactive Stingray Reef touch tank and aquarium restaurant. Undergraduates can purchase $6 discounted tickets; graduate students, faculty and staff pay $12.
Elitch Gardens: General Admission

Where: Elitch Gardens Amusement Park
Elitch Gardens is a 70-acre theme park located downtown with thrilling rides, attractions and shows. Tickets are good for one admission on any regular operating day during the 2015 season—including Fright Fest weekends, open Friday nights 6-10, Saturdays 12-10 p.m. and Sundays 12-9 p.m. from Oct. 2 through Nov. 1. Undergraduates can score these tickets for $12, graduate students, faculty and staff for $24.
