On Feb. 7, DU gymnastics recorded their highest score of the season—196. 150—at their meet in Provo, Utah against Brigham Young University (BYU) and no. 12 ranked Boise State University.

Their score gave the Pioneers second place. Boise State walked away with the win, posting a 196.625 while BYU placed in third with 195. 450 total team score.

Currently, DU gymnastics is ranked no. 18 in the nation, according to the GymInfo Poll, which is up from last week’s 19th.

Next, the Pioneers were victorious over West Virginia University on Feb. 13, scoring a 195.425 to West Virginia’s score of 194.600.

Junior Katie Menhinick (Paramus, New Jersey) won the all-around for the first time in her career and junior Emily Barrett (Norman, Oklahoma) came in third in the all-around. A strong performance from senior Nina McGee (Cincinnati, Ohio) on the vault led to her win the event with a score of 9.875.

DU also had the highest score on the beam with sophomore Julia Ross’s (Henderson, Nevada) third 9.8 of the season.

The Pioneers only have two home meets left this season. Their next meet is Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. in Hamilton Gymnasium against BYU and the University of Iowa before finishing out February on the road. Their final home meet is March 7 against Ohio State University and Air Force Academy in Magness Arena.
