The Colorado Rockies have just kicked off the 2014 season. Although nobody expects too much from the actual team this year, they have surprised in the past, and Coors Field is as great a place as any in Denver to have a good time.
If you are a fan, there are a few reasons why excitement about the ensuing season might be justified.
They still sport a deadly lineup led by All-Stars Carlos Gonzales and Troy Tulowitzki, and have just brought in ex-MVP Justin Morneau to fill the hole left by now retired Todd Helton. Michael Cuddyer is coming off of his Silver Slugger season, and Nolan Arenado is an up and coming star in the league.
If hitting is what you are interested in, then the Rockies are the team for you. Unfortunately, you will likely see hitting from whoever is playing the Rockies as well, as pitching may again be a problem.
Regardless of the product, the Rockies organization is putting on the diamond, Coors Field always proves to be a great experience. One thing that you can always count on is owner Dick Monford to present a good fan experience. The ballpark has always been beautiful, but the newest addition to the stadium makes it even more appealing.
This offseason the Rockies installed a brand new rooftop deck, which is fittingly called “The Rooftop.” The Rooftop will feature new restaurants and bars, and its 38,000 square feet make it the biggest party deck in sports. Admittance to The Rooftop is included with any rockies ticket this year, including the $4 Rockpile tickets. This new installation makes Coors Field one of the more impressive stadiums in all of baseball and gives fans a completely new game experience.
On top of the improvements on the inside of the stadium, the Rockies also like to please their fans on the outside. Local artists have been hired to design and create chalk art murals outside the stadium.
Whether the Rockies can compete this year remains to be seen, but with a myriad of dollar hot dog and bobblehead promotions, a great ballpark experience is a sure thing.
