This past weekend, the Pioneers had an impressive 4-0 shutout against the IUPUI Jaguars at CIBER Field.
Denver maintained control of the ball throughout the game and outplayed IUPUI with strong defense and unstoppable offense that had 23 shots in all.
The first Pioneer goal was scored by senior Zach Bolden, with an assist from redshirt junior Reid Hukari.
Bolden found the back of the net again, with an assist made by sophomore Chandler Crosswait. The Pioneers had a 2-0 lead over IUPUI by the 21st minute of the game.
Denver found their third goal, made by sophomore Karsten Hanlin, who was assisted by Bolden. The fourth and final point for the Pioneers was scored off of an impressive rebound play by freshman Kyle Morlack.
The Pioneers now stand with a 6-3-3 overall record for their season and 2-0-0 in the Summit League. It was a resounding response after playing to a 1-1 double-overtime tie last Monday against Oakland.
Denver will host Loyola University-Chicago on Wednesday, Oct. 16 here on CIBER Field. This will be the Pioneer’s last non conference game of the 2013 season.
The Pioneers will continue their home stand on Saturday as they take on Omaha at 7 p.m.
