Men’s lacrosse freshman lands on Lacrosse Magazine’s Top 15 Rookies
Freshman attackman Gordie Koerber was added to Lacrosse Magazine’s “Freshman 15: College Rookies to Watch” list on Sept. 12.
The list highlights the top freshmen lacrosse players coming into different programs around the nation to watch as they take the field for the fall season.
Koerber is a Canadian coming into Denver and was voted the MVP of the Under Armor All-American Classic, where he scored three goals, including the game-winner.
Koerber comes into Denver as a left-handed shooter and a strong finisher, making him a good candidate to fill the void left by former Canadian attackman Mark Matthews, who now plays for the Denver Outlaws.
Koerber, who accumulated 32 goals and seven assists his senior year at Gilman School, stated that he didn’t know what to expect at Denver but is excited to integrate into assistant coach Matt Brown’s Canadian-infused hybrid system similar to one he’s used to.

Kingsley currently leads the Pioneers with a .385 hitting percentage and 1.61 blocks per set.
To be eligible for the award, the student athlete must be a NCAA Division I senior and have achievements in four areas of excellence: the community, the classroom, character and competition.
