Crime Stoppers and the Dumb Friends League are offering a $3,000 reward for information regarding a series of dog poisonings in the DU area.
At least three poisonings took place in early December while students were away for vacation, and all of them were reported on the streets surrounding the school campus.
The first incident was reported from York Street, and the additional two poisonings were reported on the same block soon after.
Crime Stoppers believes the dogs are being slipped poisoned meatballs, causing vomiting, diarrhea, uncontrollable shaking and disorientation.
In all three cases the dogs have recovered fully and are doing well.
In the aforementioned crimes, there have been discoveries of medical marijuana wrappers and brownies near the crime scene.
Currently, there is little information on the identity of the person responsible for the poisonings, though police are hoping that the offered reward money will bring results. Crime Stoppers has offered $2,000 for information, and the Dumb Friends League has added an additional $1,000 to that amount.
If found, the person responsible for the crimes could face up to two years in jail and a $100,000 fine according to Crime Stoppers. Anonymous tips can be reported to (720) 913-7867
