Alpha Lambda Delta’s (ALD) first Fall Fest saw a large turnout for its event last Wednesday. The honors society managed to raise around $200 for The House That Rock Built, a nonprofit organization promoting aid for needy children through music.

“I am extremely pleased with the results of Fall Fest,” ALD president Cheyenne Michaels said. “We all worked so hard on this event, and I think it really showed, despite our obstacles – the weather and our status as an under-experienced organization.”

Multiple clubs managed booths for the event.

Students participated in activities such as pumpkin carving, trivia competitions, bean bag toss and food sampling.

“I do wish we could have raised more money for The House That Rock Built, but we knew coming in that it’s no easy feat to get college kids to pay for anything,” Michaels said. “We plan on doing more fundraisers in the winter to make up for it.”

Michaels said that she was pleased with the event overall.

“I certainly think the event helped us accomplish our goal of getting our name out there,”

Michaels said. “We created an alliance with many of DU’s amazing organizations and had a great turnout from the public.”
