THEFT
On Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 2:10 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call form the Driscoll Student Center regarding a shoplifter who had fled the bookstore after being approached by Loss Prevention personnel. Officers responded to the scene and searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect.
On Friday, Feb. 4, at 12:39 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from the Ritchie Center regarding a missing wallet. Officers spoke with a student who reported that they left their personal belongings in an unsecure locker at approximately 11:35 a.m. that day. When they returned to the locker at 12:40 p.m. on the same day, they discovered that their wallet had been removed from the locker. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department
On Friday, Feb. 4, at 2:07 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a student who came to the Campus Safety Center to report that their wallet was missing. The student reported that their wallet was last seen around 6 p.m. the day before in Centennial Halls, and that they were not sure when or where it was misplaced.
On Saturday, Feb. 5, at 7:08 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Penrose Library regarding a stolen laptop. Upon arrival, a Campus Safety officer spoke with a student who left their laptop unattended and unsecured while using the restroom. When they returned, the laptop was missing. The student filed an additional report with the Denver Police Department.
DRUGS AND ALCOHOL
On Thursday, Feb. 3, at 11:31 p.m., Campus Safety responded to Nelson Hall on the report of a liquor law violation. Housing and Residential Education staff had observed several students in possession of alcohol in their rooms. Campus Safety disposed of the alcohol and Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
On Friday, Feb. 4, at 12:08 a.m., Campus Safety responded to Johnson-McFarlane Hall on the report of two intoxicated students. An on-scene investigation revealed that Housing and Residential Education staff had made contact with two intoxicated students in one of the building’s stairwells. Paramedics responded and transported the students to Porter Hospital.
On Saturday, Feb. 5, at 3:56 a.m., Campus Safety responded to Centenntial Halls regarding an intoxicated male sleeping in the main lobby. Officers arrived on the scene and made contact with the male who claimed he was a DU student. The student was visibly intoxicated and in possession of a driver’s license not belonging to him. Denver police was contacted and the student was transported to Denver Cares.
On Saturday, Feb. 5, at 2 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Centennial Halls regarding the odor of marijuana emanating from a student’s room. Officers arrived on the scene, were admitted to the room in question and confiscated drug paraphernalia, which was in plain sight.
On Sunday, Feb. 6, at 1:28 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Centennial Halls regarding an intoxicated student who was vomiting in a restroom. Officers responded to the scene, made contact with the student and contacted paramedics to provide assistance to the student. Paramedics transported the student to Porter Hospital.
TRAFFIC
On Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 11:48 a.m., Campus Safety spoke to an unaffiliated party who came to the Campus Safety Center to report a hit-and-run accident in parking lot 301. The unaffiliated party reported that they left their vehicle parked in lot 301 at approximately 8 a.m., and upon their return at 11:30 a.m., they discovered that there was noticeable damage to the driver’s side.
