 What Went Right

Freshman Colleen King led the Pioneers on Sunday afternoon, recording a career-high 18 kills. Fellow freshman Alex Turgeon also had a great game, finishing with 17 kills and 14 digs. The underclassmen led the way with kills, while senior Kresson Vreeman notched a season-high 53 assists.

 What Went Wrong

Despite winning the first two sets, Denver was unable to win their contest on Friday against Arkansas State. Cayla Fielder led the opposition with 16 kills.

 Up Next

The volleyball team concludes its regular season when it travels to Denton, Texas, on Friday night to battle North Texas. The following week, the Pioneers travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn., the site of this year’s Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

 What Went Right

The men’s team was able to win last Saturday as they edged out the Cowboys in a close road meet. The men swept both the 1000 freestyle and the 100 butterfly events. The Pioneers notched nine first-place finishes on the men side, while the women’s team recorded 13 second-place finishes.

What Went Wrong

Despite a big win over instate rival Colorado State on Friday, the women’s swim and dive team struggled the next day, being thumped by 89 against the Cowgirls on Saturday.

 Up Next

DU takes a length break until after Thanksgiving, where the team will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, for the University of Iowa Invitational on Dec. 3-5. The Pioneers start conference play on Dec. 18.
