Men’s Soccer (3-3-2)

DU 2, California 2 (2OT)

Stanford 1, DU 0

 What Went Right

The Pioneers continued their season-long trend of outshooting their opponents in the Stanford Nike Classic last weekend, however more shots did not help Denver overcome stout Pac 10 defenses. Junior Kellan Christensen and freshman Kegan Harkenrider provided the weekend’s only goals against California on Friday.

What Went Wrong

In Sunday’s game against Stanford, DU allowed the Cardinal to win their fourth consecutive match when Adam Jahn scored off a cross pass in the 59th minute to put Stanford 1-0. In Friday’s game, the Pioneers failed to beat the Golden Bears despite going into extra minutes.
