The midterms are just around the corner and early voting has kicked off all over the country. In Colorado, ballots have been sent, and in-person voting centers have opened for this election cycle.

Where can I vote on campus?

The in-person voting center on DU’s campus is located in the multipurpose room at Dimond Family Residential Village, 2020 S. High St. The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 26–30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 2 and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3.

What if my ballot hasn’t arrived?

In Colorado, every resident who is registered to vote will be mailed a ballot 22 days before the last day to vote. If you have not received your ballot yet, double check your address at GoVoteColorado.gov, then call 720-913- 8683.

What if I’m registered somewhere else?

Just because you are registered to vote in another state does not mean you can’t participate in this election. You may be able to request an absentee ballot through your home state’s official election website and have it sent to your Colorado mailing address.

Eligibility requirements, request deadlines and ballot return rules vary by state, so check with your state or local election office to determine whether there is still time.

Can I still register to vote in Colorado?

Yes: In Colorado residents can register to vote though Election Day. Although, to receive a mail-in ballot voters must have registered no later than 22 days before Election Day.

How do I return my ballot?

Ballot drop boxes are littered all over the state, but for DU students the closest location would be the Ritchie Center roundabout on Buchtel Blvd. The deadline for ballot drop off is 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Colorado makes voting accessible through mail ballots, ballot drop boxes and in-person voting centers. DU students should check their registration and choose a voting method that works for them. With the Election Day deadline on Nov. 3rd, making a plan can help ensure that your ballot is submitted on time.
