The DU volleyball team split its matches on the road this weekend in Alabama.

On Friday, the Pioneers (10-13, 7-4 SBC) fell to the Troy Trojans 3-1. Despite junior Faimie Kingsley’s career-high performance, the Pioneers lost three of four sets. Their only set victory came in set three as the DU edged Troy 25-14 .

Kingsley, a middle blocker, led the Pioneers with 20 kills, six blocks and a .395 hitting percentage. Freshman outside hitter Kate Acker also racked up nine kills and nine digs.

Junior libero Lyndi Johnson got 18 digs, while redshirt senior Julia Cawthra, the team’s setter, tallied 47 assists.

The Pioneers’ momentum from Kingley’s performance on Friday carried over to Saturday’s game against South Alabama, where the Pioneers were able to  dominate the Jaguars 3-1.

DU fell the first set 25-23, but picked up the next three sets 25-19, 26-24 and 25-13. The win solidified another Sun Belt Conference victory for the Pioneers. The Pioneers currently sit in second place of the West Divison, behind Arkansas State.

Kingsley led the team again with 16 kills and five blocks, with sophomore middle blocker Brea Muhle not far behind with 12 kills and a .458 hitting percentage.

Cawthra totaled 43 assists, making two games in a row with more than 40 assists, and Acker had another successful game with seven digs and eight kills.

The Pioneers will travel to Bowling Green, Ky., to face off against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Friday,  at 6 p.m.
