On Tuesday, April 12, at 2:26 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from the Sturm College of Law regarding a DU employee in need of medical assistance. Officers responded to the scene, evalutaed the situation and contacted paramedics, who transported the employee to Porter Hospital.
On Tuesday, April 12, at 9:39 a.m., while on routine patrol, Campus Safety officers observed paramedics and Denver Fire Department trucks near Johnson-McFarlane Hall. An officer spoke with paramedics who stated that a student had contacted them for medical attention. Paramedics transported the student to Porter Hospital.
Theft
On Wednesday, April 13, at 1:23 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Centennial Halls regarding a wallet containing a false identification card which had been found by a student. Upon arrival, a Campus Safety officer spoke with the reporting party who relayed that they had returned the found wallet to its owner just prior to the meeting. The officer went to the room of the wallet’s owner and retrieved the false identification, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia that was in plain sight.
On Saturday, April 16, at 12:48 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a report of two students walking on South High Street with a stolen street sign. The officer contacted Denver Police to question the students further. DPD officers released the students after they agreed to return the sign.
Vandalism
On Thursday, April 14, at 11:35 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a report from the University College of damage to the building. A staff member reported that, while performing normal duties, they discovered a broken window in the building.
On Friday, April 15, at 8:42 a.m., a faculty member reported to Campus Safety that an unknown person caused damage to the men’s restroom stalls on the first floor of the Ammi Hyde Building. The damage occured sometime between Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 14.
Drugs and alcohol
On Tuesday, April 12, at 11:25 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Johnson-McFarlane Hall regarding the odor of marijuana emanating from a student’s room. Upon arrival, a Campus Safety officer was admitted to the room in question, where they spoke to the student occupant. The student voluntarily relinquished alcohol, a false identification card, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
On Wednesday, April 13, at 2:09 p.m., a Campus Safety officer observed a student fall out of the back of a parked vehicle and stumble into Centennial Halls. The officer stopped the student in question and observed that they were intoxicated and in possession of false identification. The officer called paramedics for assistance. While awaiting the arrival of paramedics, a relative of the student arrived on the scene and requested that they be allowed to take custody of the student. Paramedics arrived on the scene, evaluated the student and released them to the care of the family member.
On Saturday, April 16, at 2:26 a.m., a Campus Safety officer saw a severly intoxicated unconscious male party on the north side of the E3 warehouse facility. The officer determined that the male was not affiliated with DU and contacted Denver Police, who took the individual into custody.
On Sunday, April 17, at 1:13 a.m., a Campus Safety officer responded to a report of three intoxicated males on the 1900 block of East Asbury Avenue near Sturm Hall. The officer determined that the males were unaffiliated with DU and called for paramedic assistance. Upon arrival, paramedics evaluated the males, released two of them immediately and released the third later.
