Feb. 27At about 7:30 a.m., a fire alarm was activated at Centennial Halls. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded. Investigation revealed it was a false alarm caused by a dirty smoke detector. Facilities Management was notified. At about 11:45 a.m., a DU student reported receiving harassing telephone calls in her residence at Centennial Halls. Campus Safety responded and completed the investigation. At about 4:27 p.m., an unaffiliated adult female reported on Dec. 21, 2001 that she fell on the sidewalk by Driscoll South. Risk Management was notified.
March 2At 9:31 a.m., a DU staff member reported the theft of a snow shovel from the locked Cavalier Apartments maintenance office. Campus Safety completed a report.At 2:00 p.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Centennial Towers. Campus Safety found that an unknown person had activated a pull station on the fifth floor. The Denver Fire Department was unable to locate any fire or smoke and determined it to be a false alarm. The system was then reset.At 2:00 p.m., a Department of Residence staff member reported that a window had been broken in the West Lounge area of Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Campus Safety completed a report.At 3:29 p.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Beta Theta Pi. The Denver Fire Department determined it to be a false alarm due to equipment malfunction.At 4:05 p.m., a Campus Safety officer observed a D&L employee driving recklessly in lot 108 (lumber yard lot). Campus Safety contacted the driver and issued a citation.
March 3At 5:00 a.m., a Department of Residence staff member reported that a drinking fountain in Johnson-McFarlane Hall had been damaged and was leaking water. Campus Safety contacted maintenance to stop the leaking water. Campus Safety’s investigation is continuing.At 7:30 p.m., a Campus Safety officer noticed that an EXIT sign in Sturm Hall had been vandalized. A Campus Safety report was completed and maintenance was notified.
March 4At 8:30 a.m., a construction worker at the College of Law site reported to Campus Safety that some equipment had been taken from the tower crane on the construction site. The Denver Police Department responded and completed a report.At 5:00 p.m., a DU student reported that an unidentified male had attacked him as he exited the Daniels College of Business building. The student said that the suspect is a member of the campus community and that he and the other student had an altercation during an intramural soccer game recently. Denver Police Department responded but did not complete a report at the student’s request. Campus Safety’s investigation is continuing.At 12:25 p.m. Campus Safety responded to a traffic accident in the 2100 block of South High Street. The accident involved a DU vehicle driven by a facilities staff member. There were no injuries and damage was minor.
