Project Angel Heart is a local non-profit organization which delivers hot meals to victims of HIV/AIDS, cancer and other diseases. It depends on donations to survive, so it holds multiple fundraising events every year.
On March 13, Project Angel Heart will be holding its annual Dining Out for Life fundraising event. Every year, over 220 Denver restaurants donate 25 percent of their sales to Project Angel Heart.
Some of the participating restaurants are Chipotle, Old Chicago, Racines and Wahoo’s Fish Tacos. For a full list of participating restaurants, go to www.projectangelheart.org and click on the “Dining Out for Life” link.
About 300 volunteers (ambassadors) are still needed for this event. Duties include working from 5 or 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at participating restaurants and thanking people for dining out.
Ambassadors will also collect contribution envelopes from diners. Diners will also be registered to win a $1000 shopping spree at Cherry Creek Shopping Center.
For more information on volunteering, contact Jackie Hibbard, director of Volunteer Resources at (303)830-0202 extension 16.
Project Angel Heart asks that if people can’t volunteer, they at least dine at a participating Denver area restaurant on March 13.
