Two scientists, who are challenging the veracity of the collapse of the World Trade Center towers as the result of being hit by airplanes were given a chance to voice their doubts Saturday. Presented by Colorado 9/11 Visibility and coalition of other organizations dedicated to discovering any falsehoods about Sept. 11, the event was held in Davis Auditorium, and included five speakers.

Two of the speakers, Kevin Ryan, an engineer, and Steven Jones, a physicist, said they were focused on discovering any hidden information about 9/11.

Ryan is a former managing engineer at the Underwriters Laboratories who worked in close coordination with the National Institute for Standards and Technology to investigate why the twin towers of the World Trade Center collapsed after being struck.

Ryan criticized the techniques used by the NIST and UL to analyze what happened. He also called into question the series of events leading up to the terrorist attacks.

He said that the Bush administration was responsible for “deliberately and systematically distorting scientific fact in the service of policy goals.”

Specifically, Ryan claimed that certain relevant facts about the WTC collapse, revealed by the NIST-UL investigation, were clearly ignored by the 9-11 Commission. He asserted that much of the evidence seemed to suggest that the collapse was brought about by the “carefully controlled” use of chemical explosives. The ultimate result of his investigations resulted in his being fired. He assented that the twin towers fell as the result of “a controlled demolition.”

Jones, the second scientist discussing 9/11, is no stranger to controversy. As a physicist at Brigham Young University, he developed cold fusion technology which other scientists have questioned.

Jones said the NIST-UL report, was a “blatant farce perpetrated” by the Federal Emergency Management Agency agents responsible for managing the report. He stressed the importance of using the scientific method in investigating the truth of 9/11.

His presentation focused on the possibility that thermite, a chemical explosive used extensively in military technologies, was responsible for destroying the steel superstructure of World Trade Center. Only thermite, he claimed to adequately account for the recorded visual evidence of the towers’ collapse.

Michael Woolsey, president of 9/11truth.org, said that “telling the truth in modern America is a dangerous journey.” However, he also cautioned that it was an effort that was entirely worth making.

Another speaker, Kevin Barry, a teacher at numerous Islamic schools in America and founder of Jewish, Christian, Muslim Alliance for 9/11 truth, said that discovering the truth of 9/11 could prove to be a “revolution in consciousness”, likening the efforts of Ryan and Jones to that of Galileo.

The promise of 9/11 truth, as he put it, is saving the future of this nation and the world from a terrible fate. He also said that this would remain a long and difficult struggle that would ultimately be won by the “soul power” of all who seek to discover the truth behind 9/11.
