Detox full, student drunk
On Friday, Jan. 12, at 1:24 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an ill party at Johnson-McFarlane Hall.
An on-scene investigation revealed the party was an underage and intoxicated DU student.
Campus Safety contacted Denver Cares but was informed the detox facility was full. The student’s condition improved, and he was allowed to return to his residence hall room.
The student’s roommate agreed to monitor his condition and contact Campus Safety if it worsened. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Dorm room egg attack
On Jan. 13, at 2:53 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of someone throwing objects from a residence hall room at Centennial Towers.
Campus Safety contacted two DU students who admitted to throwing eggs at pedestrians on the sidewalk from their room.
One student was in possession of alcohol. The other student was in possession of university-owned property. Campus Safety supervised the disposal of the alcohol and the return of the university property. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Mary Jane vanishes
On Saturday, Jan. 13, at 8:12 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed three underage DU students and an unaffiliated party were in the room.
No drugs or drug paraphernalia were present, however, Campus Safety confiscated alcohol containers from the room. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Stubborn drunk
On Monday, Jan. 15, at 2:04 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an ill party at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed the party was an underage and intoxicated DU student.
The student was uncooperative with Campus Safety officers and Denver Police Department assistance was requested.
Paramedics transported the student to an unidentified hospital for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Attempted carjack
On Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 8:37 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of vandalism in parking lot H1.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member parked a rented vehicle in the lot at 8 a.m.
When she returned to the vehicle at 3:45 p.m. she discovered person(s) attempted to gain entry to the vehicle by prying open the passenger side door. Minor damage was reported. The staff member was advised to file a report with Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Car accident
On Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 10:32 a.m. the spouse of a DU employee reported a traffic accident at the intersection of South Wadsworth Boulevard and West Cross Drive in Littleton. A Campus Safety report revealed the spouse was driving a university-owned vehicle assigned to her husband when she struck a vehicle belonging to an unaffiliated party.
The spouse was issued a citation for careless driving by the Colorado State Patrol. Significant damage and no injuries were reported. Risk Management has been notified.
Caught green handed
On Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 11:52 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed four DU students who denied using marijuana.
No drugs or drug paraphernalia were in plain view, however, there was a strong odor of marijuana present. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
BB gun shooting
On Thursday, Jan. 18, at 1:38 p.m. a DU staff member reported vandalism at Craig Hall. A Campus Safety report revealed the staff member discovered damage to an office window approximately one week ago.
The damage appeared to be caused by a BB gun. Facilities Management was contacted to repair the window. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Sliding collision
On Thursday, Jan. 18, at 2:15 p.m. DU staff member reported a traffic accident in parking lot W. The staff member reported that on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. he attempted to free a university-owned vehicle that was stuck in the snow. While doing so the vehicle slid into a vehicle belonging to another DU staff member. No one was in either vehicle at the time of the accident. No injuries and minor damage were reported. Risk Management will be notified.
Keypad key stolen
On Thursday, Jan. 18, at 7:39 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at Johnson-McFarlane Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student left his laptop in his secured residence hall room at 10 a.m. When he returned at 7:15 p.m., he discovered that someone had removed a key from the keypad of the laptop. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Firecrackers from above
On Friday, Jan. 19, at 12:26 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol near Aspen Hall when he observed someone throwing lit firecrackers from a residence hall room window. The suspect fled the area prior to Campus Safety arrival.
Alcohol containers were in plain view. The room was assigned to an underage student. The Graduate Resident Director disposed of the alcohol. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
