From the producers of “Road Trip” and “Old School” comes a new comedy that pushes the limits even further.
“Eurotrip” is a hilarious trip through Europe that follows two guys in search of what else, but a girl.
High school has just ended and Scotty Thomas, played by Scott Mechlowicz, has just had his heart broken by his girlfriend. Turns out she wasn’t as faithful as he thought she was.
So Scotty and his best friend Cooper, played by Jacob Pitts, are off to Europe for a summer full of wild adventures. And the reason for their trip? Not the sites, culture, or even food, but a blonde, of course.
Scotty had been corresponding via e-mail with a German pen-pal named Meike, played by Jessica Boehrs, who he thinks is a guy.
So when Meike shows interest in Scotty he freaks out and tells her to never write him again.
By the time he finds out the Meike is in fact a very hot girl, it is too late because his e-mail to her has been blocked. So Cooper tells him the only rational thing to do is to go all the way to Berlin to get Meike. So the fun begins.
The film is a National Lampoon-style romp through Europe from London to Rome and everywhere in between.
Their trip begins in London where they stumble into a pub full of Manchester United soccer hooligans led by Mad Maynard, played by Vinnie Jones from “Snatch.”
After they are accepted into the group, they accompany the gang to Paris where they meet up with their friends Jenny, played by Michelle Trachtenberg, and Jamie, played by Travis Wester, who are twins.
There, the four decided to ban together and help Scotty find Meike.
From there, they travel through Amsterdam where Jenny and Scotty get a surprise at a Dutch Bakery and Cooper gets a different kind of surprise when he goes to Club Vandersexxx.
Jamie is robbed and loses all their money and passports.
As a result, they are forced to hitchhike with a crazed German truck driver.
Thinking they are finally going to get to Berlin, the group is a bit shocked when the truck driver drops them off in Eastern Europe.
However, their mood soon changes when they realize how far American currency can go there. They hit up a club and try Absinth, a hallucinogenic drink illegal in the states.
The twins have a little too much of the Absinth and get more than they bargained for as they make out with each other.
The group finally makes it to Berlin only to find Meike has left for Rome.
This seems like the end of it until Jamie turns things around with a selfless act.
So the adventure continues in the Vatican in Rome. After a lot of illegal activity Scotty finally finds Meike and is able to pronounce his love for her.
Her response? What is Jamie’s selfless act? Well, you’ll just have to go and see.
The film is full of funny surprises. Some that make you laugh, and others that make you throw up.
Despite traveling all over the world you don’t really get to see many sites. Most scenes take place in trains, on the side of a road, or in bars.
If you liked “Road Trip” and “Old School,” then this is most likely a film you would enjoy.
