Food stolen from loading dock

Food was reported missing from a loading dock on Tuesday Sept. 30, at 10:50 a.m. by a Sodexho staff member.

A Campus Safety investigation revealed that someone stole the food from the dock sometime between 3 and 4 a.m. that morning. Denver Police Department assistance was declined; however there are no suspects at this time.

Parents involved in verbal fight

A verbal altercation at the Ricks Center was reported to Campus Safety at 10:39 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30 after observing a parent of a Ricks student harassing the parent of another Ricks student. The suspect had been escorted from campus before for similar behavior.

Minivan break-in, purse stolen

A woman unaffiliated with DU reported a theft from her minivan, which had been parked in a lot east of the Gates Field House at 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The woman told Campus Safety that she had left her vehicle at approximately 12:30 p.m. and upon returning at 1:25 p.m. she had found the passenger’s side window smashed and her mother’s purse stolen from inside.

Marijuana found at Halls

Campus Safety was called to Centennial Halls on Thursday, Oct. 2, to investigate the smell of marijuana coming from one of the residence hall rooms. The two male students inside the room who were contacted denied smoking marijuana.

Further investigation revealed that neither of the students were residents of the room.

Several empty bottles of alcohol were removed from the room and the drugs and drug paraphernalia were later confiscated from the room’s residents.

Suspicious party at bookstore

A DU staff member reported a suspicious party in the bookstore to Campus Safety on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 1:15 p.m. during a routine patrol. Video survellience showed the unidentified male picking up university merchandice and hiding it on his person before replacing it on a shelf and leaving the store.

Underage student to detox

Campus Safety observed a severely intoxicated underage student on the third floor of Centennial Halls on Friday, Oct. 3, at 4:07 a.m. during a routine patrol. Paramedics transported the student to a Porter Hospital for medical treatment.

Harassing calls

Campus safety responded to a report of harassment at 10:38 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3. An invesitgation revealed that a DU had received a harassing phone call from another DU student. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards has been notified.

Nagel students violate DU policy

Two residence hall assistants at Nagel Hall responded to a noise complaint at 12:39 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, and found two students violating residence hall room policies. The students admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages, but did not appear to be intoxicated. They were instructed to remove items in the room that were in violation of DU policies. Campus Safety and the Office of Citizenship and Community standards were notified.

Vandalism at

Aspen Halls

A DU student reported vandalism at Aspen Hall on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2:32 p.m. The student told Campus Safety officers that she had heard unidentified male voices outside her window at 2 a.m. that morning and had discovered that eggs had been thrown at her window.
