The men’s soccer team downed Air Force on Saturday 1-0 at Cadet Stadium to win their first away game of the season.
Senior forward Kyle Christensen scored his second goal of the season in the beginning of the second half of the game.
Freshman forward Sam Garza and junior midfielder Collin Audley had the assists, as Christensen received a cross from Garza for a shot 16 yards from the goal line.
“It was one of the best goals we have scored in my tenure here,” head coach Bobby Muus said. “It was set up by great passing and movement. Air Force gave us all we could handle, but we are all extremely happy with the way the team fought.”
Denver out shot Air Force 18-12, and sophomore goalkeeper Joe Willis made three saves, adding a third shutout to his career.
The Pioneers are now 5-5-0 and are undefeated 3-0-0 in their conference.
They are also ranked first in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation standings.
The men play at San Jose State on Friday and at Sacramento State on Sunday.
