What went right
While competing at the Key Biscayne Invitational in Florida over the weekend, the DU men’s tennis team claimed multiple victories. On Friday, junior Enej Bonin and senior Yannick Weihs posted singles wins for the Pioneers against No. 19 Texas. Saturday, Bonin, Weihs, junior Fabio Biasion and freshman Luke Manley posted singles wins against LSU. Weihs and freshman Othar Kordsachia also beat LSU’s Roger Anderson and Stefan Szacinski 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. Sunday, Bonin claimed the singles title after beating Michigan freshman Alex Petrone 6-2, 7-6.
What went wrong
The Pioneers were unable to clinch any doubles victories against Texas on Friday. Denver also struggled in doubles on Saturday, winning only one of seven sets against LSU and Michigan.

What went right
Wednesday, the Pioneers defeated the Arkansas State Lady Red Wolves on the road 58-49. Junior point guard Emiko Smith tallied eight points, eight assists and five steals, while senior forward Kaetlyn Murdoch scored a game-high 23 points. Freshman guard Morgan Van Riper-Rose scored 14 points in just her fourth start this season. Saturday, Murdoch tallied 19 points and seven rebounds against South Alabama. Smith added 14 points, six assists and three rebounds.
What went wrong
The Pioneers continued their road trip Saturday with a defeat at the Mitchell Center in South Alabama. The Jaguars were able to hold the Pioneers scoreless the final 6:30 of the first half. Smith hit a three to tie the game at 44-44 with 4:54 remaining in regulation, but the Jaguars pulled away with a 12-4 run.
