Alberto,
Was just reading The Clarion Online and wanted to drop a note. Friends tell me that the paper is better than ever, which is great news.
I’ve found this issue pretty interesting, what with DU getting a new president and all.
And the bit about students not being interested or involved on campus–well, I guess some things don’t change.
I also enjoyed the editorial “We’re past high school policies,” by Ryan Durst. Ryan might want to check out my Oct. 1999 piece from Anna Brower’s old editorials section, “Back to high school with juvenile attendance policies.”
Anyway, just wanted to say hello. What are your plans after DU? After doing my master’s at Northwestern, freelancing for a few magazines and working as the Washington correspondent for a small paper in Missouri, I spent this year working as a copy editor for The Kansas City Star and teaching high school journalism. Now I’m about to move to Chicago to work at a suburban newspaper.
Through it all, I’m still reading the Clarion, and still remember fondly my time on staff–
