My Big Question is an ongoing segment exploring various topics and answering your curious questions.

Happy Week 10 (basically finals week) and welcome to our last My Big Question of the quarter. As Spring Break is rapidly approaching, I decided to ask my fellow Clarion staff members what their plans were for the break–”wrong answers only” style. So, let’s see how they’re choosing to spend their approximately 10 designated days off.

This week’s big question: How am I (and the Clarion staff) spending my Spring Break? (wrong answers only)

Jackie Michel (Copy Editor, me myself and I): I will be spending my week drowning in buckets of sweet tea and fried chicken in the good old Lone Star State. My swimsuit will never be taken off for one second as I need to soak in as much sun as I can to cure me of my finger arthritis from typing and editing all of the Clarion articles. TBD on how many times my cat scratches me while home.

Annabelle Kiely (Copy Editor): I am headed for the very exciting experience of touring art schools with my sister. As I prepare for hours of listening to high school seniors marvel at the architecture and ask exhausted art students with paint on their faces what their career prospects are like, I can’t help long to be making my own art. I see a lot of crochet frogs in my future for this spring break.

Matthew Logan (News Editor): For Spring Break, I’m migrating back to the old country, Ireland, with the help of some long-lost cousins to celebrate St. Patty’s Day and my birthday with a proper Irish week-long bender.

Aubrey Cox (Executive Editor): I will be using my Spring Break, and the remainder of my time at DU, to launch my solo rap career. I tried my time in journalism, but the shoe wasn’t fittin’, but these bars are like cinders, fella, so I’ll just take to spittin’. My hallmark will be overpronunciation; my flow will be like 5 o’clock traffic; and I’ll consistently sample The Wiggles. From this day forth, I shall go by a new name: Li’l Cox.

Ambriel Speagle (Opinions Editor): My spring break plans are the envy of every 21-year-old college student. Monday through Friday I will be luxuriating under fluorescent office lighting, dining on lukewarm coffee and stale mints on my lunch breaks. The weekend is when things get really wild. An entire two days dedicated to spring cleaning. Floors, kitchen, closets, laundry, etc. I just hope I don’t get any noise complaints from my neighbors.

Riley Laub (Sports Editor): I found a treasure map underneath Anderson Academic Commons and will be using my spring break to find the treasure to pay for my tuition. I’m going off the grid. There’s not enough treasure to pay for your tuition too, so don’t ask!

Emma Lawson (Unify Marketing Director): This spring break, I’m looking forward to getting away… from the legal jurisdiction of the United States federal government. Once I land in beautiful, sunny, non-extraditing Cuba, I can surely forget my worries. Tests. Projects. The 17 warrants for my arrest on various charges of money laundering and tax fraud. These are just a few of the standard, day-to-day sources of stress I’m looking to leave behind over break!

Thank you all for your weekly reading support, and I hope you enjoy your Spring Break as much as all of us plan to!

Next week’s big question: Stay tuned!
