Yall remember throwing around the pigskin with your old man? Do you remember the first time you put on pads and shuffled out to take formation in the peewee league? Yes, football is one of those special things in life that we can constantly return to. It’s funny. As I get older, the more complicated my life gets, but you know what stays the same? Football! It’s a rare constant that grounds us and brings us together! Now, I know we’re in the off-season, but where am I from? It’s never too late to talk a little football! Yup, the season’s right around the corner, so to all my friends who like to add a little sweetener to their games.

I have a simple question for you. Who do you get this year? I’ve always been a Kansas City boy myself, but after Mahomes, I couldn’t execute last year. So I’ve been thinking about exploring my options. If you’re reading this and thinking, “What is he talking about?” Well, we’re talking about the wild world of sports betting. So if you’re new to the subject, don’t worry! Because we’re going to go through some of the ins and outs of the practice and highlight some of the best teams in the league this year! So that you can have all the tools necessary to make an informed decision about this year’s best NFL picks.

Knowing Your Team And Their Team

A common misnomer that many casual viewers of the sport have is the idea of a football team as this monolithic thing. Though yes, they do move as a unit, the game of football comes down to player vs. player. That’s why it’s essential to be aware of your team’s matchups. A killer defense can ruin your entire season. So studying your team, and more importantly, your team’s history playing against the opposition gives you the context and the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about how much or how little you may want to bet on a particular game. This is especially important in the early stages of the season, as you want to start building the momentum that will take you into the post-season, which brings us to our next topic.

Making The Most Out Of Momentum

Some often discounted aspects of sports are the enigmatic yet profound impact something as intangible as momentum can have on a team’s performance. The beauty of sports is not just in facts and figures but also in the x-factor. That special human element lets people defy the odds, summon their energies, and do the impossible. That’s why it’s so important to recognize when you’re on the precipice of such mysticality. Do you know the old saying, when you’re hot, you’re hot? Well, that applies here. When you can recognize a team’s momentum early on, you can capitalize on it before anyone else. This may start as simply as you noticing a few well-executed plays, or maybe there’s a win you didn’t reasonably expect—either way. Suppose you recognize these phenomena and make your bets accordingly. You could see a significant return before the rest of the public catches on!

First String

Now that we’ve discussed two of what I feel are the most underrated aspects of sports betting, I think it’s time to move on in our discussion to who’s looking like they’ll make the most out of this season! Now I have a sneaking suspicion that the two hungriest teams this year will be the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals. These teams performed well in last year’s postseason and have a definite chip on their shoulder returning to the field. In particular, I feel that Mahomes will be looking for a level of redemption based on his performance last year. It will be interesting to see if the Buccaneers can realign their offense as far as our other teams. Tom Brady has been a bit of a bad date these last couple of years, but I always feel that if he’s playing, his team could go all the way. Sadly I don’t think the championship is coming to the LA teams this year. The Chargers’ performance last season though stirring in parts, I felt left their drive in question more often than not. The Rams don’t look bad, but since they aren’t the Belichick-era Patriots, I’m not confident in a repeat.

If anything is for certain, the 2022 season is looking like it’ll be an excellent year for the sport. Just make sure that you’re making the right calls as well! And if you need a little more help, just refer back to this article!
