Not everyone has the time or money to go to a salon to get their body waxed. And not everyone has the time or money to go to a spa for laser hair removal. Even if you don’t want to do either of these things, you might want to remove hair from your body. If you are looking for ways to get rid of the hair you don’t want but don’t want to leave the house, you are in the right spot. The Lumi is the best option for at-home hair removal, but if you aren’t sold yet on-at-home IPL hair removal, I’ll go through different options and let you choose for yourself.

1. Shaving

The most common form of at-home hair removal is shaving, and it is what people think of when they typically think of removing hair from their bodies. A razor gets very close to your skin and removes the top part of your hair. It can be dangerous. However, you can get cut by razors, get skin irritation, and acquire infection from a dirty razor. Not everyone switches out their blades as often as they should, and if you aren’t great about changing them very constantly, it would be wise to switch to a different method. Shaving does not impact the root, and hair can start growing back very quickly- 5 o’clock shadow, anyone?- and if you are looking for long-lasting options, the Lumi is a much better option for you.

2. Depilatory

A depilatory is a cream you put on your skin that chemically removes the hair. Unfortunately, many people have too sensitive skin for depilatories, and even if you don’t have sensitive skin, it’s left on too long. Also, the smell is typically awful. Lumi has longer results and doesn’t smell like eggs.

3. Waxing

Waxing has been regarded as the longest-lasting option for hair removal (it’s not). Although most people think of waxing as something you go to the salon for, it can be done at home with wax strips or with a pot of wax. Although waxing can last a month, it can also be excruciating and, if done incorrectly, can be very bad for your skin. Wax strips often do not work well and are very sticky. If they don’t pull your hair out, you may have to reuse the strip several times to get results that may not be satisfactory, or your money might just go in the trash with the strips if they don’t work at all. Waxing pots take up a lot of space, and unless you get salon-quality wax beads, they often aren’t good enough quality to trust with your skin.

4. Tweezing

Tweezing is an option typically used for stray hairs or your eyebrows, and most people would never dream of using tweezers on their legs or other significant parts of their body. Although it’s a good thing to have at home for emergency purposes, tweezers are not nearly as good an option as a Lumi for use on your body hair.

5. Intense Pulsed Light

Of course, I had to save the best for last! You don’t need to go to a spa for laser hair removal but can get all the benefits of laser from home. Don’t believe me? The Lumi will permanently reduce your hair growth, with noticeable results after just four uses and total effects in 12. It uses an IPL, or intense pulsed light, which is safer for at-home use. The light pulses target your unwanted hairs at their root rather than the surface and will then stop the hair from growing back. The pulsed light is safer than a traditional laser, meaning it won’t burn or damage your skin. Many other at-home use options can burn or damage your skin, so this is the obvious choice. After four weeks, you will notice that your hair is less coarse and growing more sparsely. It is done with a handheld device and is easy to use- you’ll be shocked by the results and upset you didn’t purchase it sooner!

There are many options for hair removal, but the Lumi gives you more long-term results. A razor may seem cheap, but frequent purchases of blades add up. Purchase Lumi now!
