Students at DU tend to get stuck in a rut going to the same old bars weekend after weekend. Another night at the Stadium or the Pioneer is always a good time, but every once in a while there is a desperate need to change up the scene a bit. Where can one find a refreshing beverage and change of pace all in one place?

Howl at the Moon is located downtown on 19th Street right near Coors Field. On Thursdays at this half-bar, half-club your college ID gets you free entry— cover is usually $5 to $8 depending on the night. Your ID also gets you free drinks  from 9 to 10 p.m every Thursday (don’t forget to tip), with additional night-long specials including $1 Coors Light drafts and $2 Skyy and Bacardi drinks.

Not only does Howl at the Moon offer drink specials, the bar is only half the experience. They have live music shows offering dance and hit music, including covers from bands like Bastille, Hozier and Avicii, Wednesday through Saturday (the bar is closed Sunday through Tuesday) starting at 8 p.m.

The club offers a variety of Colorado craft beers with rotating seasonal taps, as well as a limited food menu for those late-night munchies. This club is only for Pioneers 21 and over, please.
