The search for a new dean for the Daniels College of Business (DCB) is underway. This process began in June 2013 and the hunt has been narrowed down to five final candidates: Brent Chrite, Rajiv Dewan, Jorge Haddock, Sharon Lassar and Eric Morse.

The process commenced in mid-June with the hiring of a professional search firm to aid in finding candidates for the new dean of DCB. According to the portfolio website, which features all of the candidates and the process, Korn/Ferry International search firm was selected. Candidates underwent the first round of interviews in Nov. 2013, and the final candidates selected from this round were invited for on-campus interviews.

A search committee of stakeholders was gathered to help the screening process of potential candidates, according to the portfolio website. The committee consisted of an array of DU faculty involved with DCB and the Daniels Executive Advisory Board, as well as other departments, such as the Colorado Women’s College.

The five candidates will have opportunities to meet students and answer questions throughout the month of January.

Students are also being asked to take part in the selection process. In an email sent out to the DU community from internal news, comments and evaluations of each candidate were requested in order to gain a better understanding of the different candidates. According to the email, evaluations should be submitted as soon as possible, and it urges students to submit evaluations for each candidate after they present, rather than waiting until the end of the process.
