To the DU Community,

Please accept my most sincere apologies in running Stuart Cobb’s most recent editorial, “Fancy That: The seven women you meet at DU.”

We understand the mistake of running it. We understand the editorial was perceived as misogynistic, and that was not our intent. We published it without malice. I do not defend misogyny, nor do I share the same feelings. I understand the severity of our choices and there will be a formal apology in next week’s Clarion as well as comments and letters sent to the editor.

Stuart’s most recent apology does not reflect the opinion of the Clarion, and we apologize for all the frustration and heartache.

I am a student at DU and have greatly learned from this experience. I understand the severity of the decision, and strict decisions have been made about further guidelines for editorial submission.

Again, please accept my sincere apologies.
